***A message from our President****

Hello Everyone,

Wow, how quickly life changes!!! Hope everyone is healthy and hunkered down. If the weather would only cooperate, stop snowing and warm up already so we could actually enjoy being outside everyday.

Our board met again last night to discuss go forward and contingency plans and wanted to give a brief update on the status of the 2020 Crushers Baseball. As of now, we are still hopefully and cautiously optimistic that we will have a summer season in some form…it is looking like it may start a bit later than expected.

We continue to listen to, as well as follow, the advice and direction of Provincial/Municipal Authorities and our Governing Sport Associations with respect to how to best manage the current COVID-19 situation.

We are constantly reassessing our situation across different leagues – Little League AB, Softball AB and Baseball AB and they as of now have not formally cancelled the 2020 season. Calgary Minor Softball has cancelled their spring season due to diamond availability, but has not ruled out a different season starting in later summer/fall season (July-Aug/Sep).

Our hope is that we can salvage some kind of season, whatever that may look like. We will update you at the end of April/Beginning of May with next steps or sooner, if things drastically change.

Until then, do your best to stay healthy, well and engaged. Continue to follow @CrushersBB for posts/activities or ways to stay active. Watch the Blue Jays ’93 World Series games on TV, swing a bat or hopefully we will be able to go throw the ball outside again real soon.

Please stay safe and hopefully we will be talking about Opening Day!

Best Regards,

Chris Wallin, President
Chestermere Crushers
